Declaration of data privacy.

Personal data

No personal data are required to gain access to the public section of the website. However, if you are explicitly asked for it and withhold your data, it may be that you are possibly not able to access certain parts of the website, we are not able to process your order, we cannot send you the requested information or also cannot contact you.

Data collection

Two types of data are collected: the data, which you give us, and the data which are automatically collected on the website.

Data, which you have provided to us

You should enter your data in registration forms or online forms, if you

  • purchase products in the online shop,
  • conclude a subscription,
  • use the contact page of our website.

Our registration form requires several basic data, including contact information (name, address, telephone number) and possibly payment information, in order to process your order, registration or request. In addition to this, there are several non-binding fields in our registration form, in which you can enter additional data, in order to assist us with offering you a better service.

If you have asked us to send you information about our product range or services, you can object to the receipt of additional information at any time, by notifying us via e-mail or as shown below.

Data, which are automatically collected on our website

If you visit our website, we log your IP address (i.e. the Internet address of your computer, not your e-mail address) and other general utilisation data, in order to assess which parts of our website you visit and how long you spend there. These data are combined with the utilisation data of all visitors to our website, in order to measure the number of visitors, the average time spent on a website, the opened pages etc. We will use these data collected by us for internal purposes, according to the stipulations of our anonymised procedure. It is not possible to draw any conclusions about you as a person from this procedure.
We use these combined data rating our products and services, including the innovations, which we make accessible through our website, and in order to measure the use of our website and improve its contents overall. In no case, are the utilisation data from our websites linked with personal data, which would reveal anything about you.

Cookies

Just like many other websites, Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund GmbH uses the technology that is generally known as cookies, in order to collect data about how you use the website, and in order to ensure that your visit proceeds as smoothly as possible, particularly if you use our shop and the booking/voucher portal, in order to place an order.

Our cookies neither reveal nor contain any personal data. Cookies cannot read out any information from your computer or interact with other cookies on your hard disk. However, cookies enable us to recognise you, when you visit our website again later on.

We are placing on this website videos of the company YouTube, LLC 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, ("YouTube"), a company of Google Inc., Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ( In the following: "Google").

Here we use the "extended privacy mode" option provided by YouTube.

When you visit a page that has an embedded video, it will connect to the YouTube servers and display the content by notifying your browser on the website.

According to information from YouTube, in the "extended privacy mode", only your data - in particular which of our web pages you have visited and device-specific information including the IP address - will be transmitted to the YouTube server in the USA when you watch the video. By clicking on the video you consent to this transmission.

If you are logged in to YouTube at the same time, this information will be associated with your Membership Account on YouTube. You can prevent this by logging out of your member account before visiting our website.

Vimeo

We use videos from Vimeo, LLC, 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011 ("Vimeo"), on this website.

When you visit a page that has an embedded video, it will connect to the Vimeo servers and display the content by notifying your browser on the website. This will be transmitted to the Vimeo server, which of our websites you have visited. If you are logged in as a member of Vimeo, Vimeo assigns this information to your personal user account. When using the video player, such as clicking on the start button of a video also assigns this information to your user account. You can prevent this association by logging out of your Vimeo user account before using our website and deleting the corresponding cookies from Vimeo.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereinafter "reCAPTCHA") on our websites. Provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). With reCAPTCHA it should be checked whether the data entry on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) is done by a human being or by an automated program. For this reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor on the basis different characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For analysis reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, time the website visitor stays on the website or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google. The reCAPTCHA analyses run completely in the background. Visitors to the website are not informed that an analysis is taking place. Data processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting his website offers against abusive automated spying and SPAM.

Use of data

We will only use personal data,

  • for executing orders, which have been placed online,
  • for processing your interest in our products or services offered by Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund GmbH,

  • in order to market our products and services.

If you use our order modules for buying products and services on our website, we will use your data to execute your order(s) and send you e-mails about the progress of your order(s). If you buy products from Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund GmbH, your credit card data will be protected with CCL encryption technologies. If you want to make a purchase without disclosing credit card data, we request that you phone our Call Centre.

If you provide us with your e-mail address or other contact details, we will use these to send you updates about the latest information and offers of Karlsruhe Verkehrsverbund GmbH. If you do not want us to contact you, let us know and Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund GmbH will comply with your wishes. At present, it is not possible on the website of Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund GmbH for users in our database to permanently delete or deactivate your personal data, but we will do this on your behalf upon request.
