Test Area at the Strategy Dialogue Automotive Industry

On September 17, 2020, the Test Area Autonomous Driving Baden-Württemberg (TAF BW) participated in the virtual exhibition at the interim press conference of the Strategy Dialogue Automotive Industry Baden-Württemberg.

At the event, TAF BW presented its range of activities and services, its objectives and scope of services. In addition, some "Smart Mobility" projects using the test area were presented, such as "SmartEPark" and "bwirkt". The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and Arts and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport support five projects with the "Smart Mobility" funding programme that deal with the topic of autonomous driving in a transdisciplinary manner.

TAF BW has also been included as a successful example for the implementation of a laboratory under real-world conditions for automated and connected driving in the "Third Progress Report Strategy Dialogue Automotive Industry Baden-Württemberg" and underlines its importance for the research and further development of automated and autonomous driving as well as new mobility solutions.

The conference is the forum for the entire industry - far beyond the borders of Baden-Württemberg. Already at the first two events, the organisers were able to attract high-ranking representatives from industry and politics to discuss the state and future of the automotive industry in various thematic circles. Several hundred guests attended the event in the past two years and were able to obtain first-hand information about current developments at the accompanying exhibition.
